IHC Rothrist was founded in 1997 and actually consists of two men team, one woman team and three junior teams. Like most teams in Switzerland, Rothrist plays it’s home games on an outdoor pitch.
Since 2002 the IHC Rothrist plays in the swiss inline hockey federation (SIHV/FSIH). In 2006 the first squad moved up from NLB to the NLA. As of now and already for some years, Rothrist is the only Swiss german speaking club playing in the highest league of Switzerland. In 2012 the IHC Rothrist won the Swiss Cup, which brought the first national title to the German-speaking part of Switzerland. In the following year the European Cup Winners Cup was lost in the Final in overtime. In 2016 the Swiss Cup was won for the second time in club history. The year 2018 was one of the most successful in the club's history. A title was denied, but Rothrist was in the final of the Cup Winners Cup in Ternitz as well as in the Swiss Cup and lost two times narrowly. Last season, IHCR reached the play-off final for the first time in the club's history. After a hard fight against Rossemaison, the team lost the final 3:2 in the series.
