Since 1997, a European champion in our sport has been chosen by the international association IISHF, usually every two years. Since 2006 Austria has always made a selection and has already been able to host two European championships (2009 and 2014, each in Stegersbach).

The red-white-red team achieved the best result in 2006 when they won the bronze medal (2006). In the last two tournaments, 2018 and 2019, Austria was only one goal away from a podium finish.
